Affiliate Committee does the following:
MLS Meetings- the MLS committee meets monthly. These are important to attend because the monthly programs are set here. If there are any changes in the program schedules that could affect us, we want to know about them in advance. There are different chair people each month, get to know who they will be.
Monthly Meetings- hold these on the first Thursday of the month. They are held during the regular board meeting. This seems to be the best time to get maximum attendance. Have a sign-in sheet to keep track of those who are participating and to keep the mailing lists up to date. Make sure the members know that if they want a spot in one of the programs they must attend.
Affiliate Programs- these are held on the LAST Thursday of the month. In 2011 March, June, and September have five Thursdays. Set the schedule for the month-end programs in December of this year. November and December are normally out because of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Spotlights- set up the schedule at the Monthly Meetings. The spotlight on the last Thursday of the month can be skipped because of the Affiliate Program. This also stretches out the number of members for the Spotlight. Inform the Board staff so that they can put the member’s picture and info in the Weekly Update.
Affiliate of the month- the nominee should attend at least three MLS meetings per month and the Monthly Affiliate Meeting as well. They should also participate in the special events when they come up, this includes setting up and cleaning up, assisting in planning and carrying out the event.
Have all affiliates provide a picture, a head shot of themselves in a JPEG format. These pictures will be used for the weekly Spotlight announcement and for other purposes. WSGVAR is developing a new website and it will have an Affiliates Section, this will include pictures as well as contact info. Please make sure we are getting their primary contact info and not their corporate office.
New Realtor Orientations- these are held every month, except in December. Find out who is running the Orientation Programs and get the yearly schedule. Draw names for the first six months in January and then draw again in July for the last five months. Tell those who participate that they need to bring hand-outs for about forty people and that they need to ask for business cards from the individual realtors.
Special Events- there will always be request for the affiliates to participate in these programs as servers and donors. They provide good exposure for the affiliates. Participation in these events is also a factor in who gets picked for our programs.
Email List- use the sign-up sheet to maintain the list. Use it to keep the committee members up to date and remind them of events and meetings. Provide the Board staff with new address so that their updates can be emailed to the affiliates as well.
