Graduate REALTORS® Institute (GRI®)
As of member of the West San Gabriel Valley Association of REALTORS® our members subscribe to a certain Code of Conduct as well as certain ethical practices which are as follows:
There are approximately 500,000 real estate licenses in the State of California. Approximately 170,000 licenses are members of the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and over 2,000 members of the local Board of REALTORS® that subscribe to these high standards. Nationally, out of 3,000,000 licenses there are approximatl 1,100,000 REALTORS® that are members of the National Association of REALTORS®. The State of California requires that all licensees must attend a minium of 45 hours of continuing education every four years. Some of those licensees have gone above the normal standards and have achieved the right to use the term REALTOR which is a registered trademark of the National Association of Realtors as well as the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. Basically, our local associations are the "Watch dog" of our professional organization which overseas its members to insure that the public is protected from any unauthorized practices by a licensee. The question is "DOES YOUR REAL ESTATE LICENSE REPRESENTATIVE HAVE THE DESIGNATION REALTOR®"? There is a difference.
Some of the members have gone above and beyond to continue their Real Estate Profession by obtaining advanced designations which have been certified by the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and or the National Association of REALTORS®. Below is a list of members of the West San Gabriel Valley Association of REALTORS® that have achieved the following designations. Our congratulations go out from the Board of Directors and any inquires as to the designagtions can be answered by calling our association office.
GRI Designation Program developed for members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and offered through State REALTOR® Associations, the GRI program includes 90 hours of coursework on various topics such as marketing and servicing listed properties to real estate law.
